I've been hearing so much about the Pottermore games on PS3...I think I really, REALLY need to get one! I wonder if my husband would let me buy him one for Father's Day? hehe
I am utterly fascinated by the level of the details. I love playing Sims3, and 3D digitally rendered objects that are life-like enough to make me think it's a photograph, or that I AM in the scene, really intrigue me. I really wish I had the knowledge to do work such as this. I love traditional art, but there is just something of the techie in me that loves digital worlds.
The first thing I usually study, whether in digital or traditional art, is wood grains. This apartment is ripe with lovely woods! The beams are sturdy (and I've seen some worlds and art wherein it looks as if, if it were real, things would be collapsing), the mantle, railings, woodbin...all are lovely and look to be accurate within themselves - as in, it looks as if this place was rendered from an actual Old-World Inn or fancy cottage. I was actual surprised by the level of detail on the plates. The hanging pots give it a real feel that someone could live there. The trestle table is lovely, reminds me of my own dining table but in a lighter color :-) I love the intricate designs on the chairs with their backs to/nearest the fireplace. They all look slightly uncomfortable, but I suppose that's what cushioning charms are for ;-) Oh! I just noticed that there are two fireplaces. Is one maybe primarily for heating and flooing and the other for cauldrons? Interesting! I love the stonework around both. I want those brass scales and the grandfather clock! I've always wanted a clock like that, but alas, I've no room for one. I love the stacked pots and the bellows, although I'm not sure what the bellows are for, really. Although, I'm sure wizards don't use magic for everything, even stoking a fire! The sideboard with the plants is also cool. Is that a mimbulous mimeltonia? However that's spelled - too lazy to look it up at the moment hehe. Lastly, I love the quills and the chandelier. Looking at that, I'm certainly glad I'm a Muggle with electricity!
Thank you so much for posting your hard work!
